Miniature Golden Retriever

Appearance

Miniature Golden Retrievers are only 18 to 20 inches tall and weigh between 20 and 55 pounds. In order to make them so little, a Golden Retriever was mixed with a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. They have a coat just like their bigger version of Golden Retriever, which is thick, with a topcoat that is straight and an undercoat that is soft. The color of a Miniature Golden Retriever is a rich gold, with some cream color mixed in.

Personality

The Miniature Golden Retriever has adapted most of the same characteristics of the larger version. Easy to train, they seek to please their owner with their friendly personality. They have some qualities from the Cocker Spaniel such as being loyal, affectionate, intelligent and loving family dogs. Great with children, the Miniature Golden Retriever is also sociable with other dogs.
